Q: My Brand New Toyota Tacoma Has a lean in it. How to get it fixed?
My new tacoma leans about an inch to the drivers side only in the bed….. It is very obvious and everyone noticed it right away. So I took it in to get it fixed and they are saying that there is no lean when they level the vehicle out, ( all the measurments are the same)however I can still see it and It is very obvious when the vehicle is not perfectly level ( like 95% of the time when I’m driving). I sat in there and argued with them for an hour and they just kept playing stupid like nothing was wrong with it. The fact is there is something wrong with the truck that is making it lean like that. Anybody have any recomendations on what I should do next??? Like who to see at the dealership or what to do? I am furious and want to resolve this, just not sure how.

A: HAHA

Q: What is the best stratedgy for a first timer on buying a new Toyota Tacoma at the dealership?
I have good credit and a job. I am just not great at wheeling and dealing in other words I couldn’t sell Gold for free. So how do I not get swindled when buying a new vehicle especially at the dealership?

Doesn’t the consumer have the upper hand at this point economically and how do I use it?

A: Contact the franchise manager of several dealerships in your area.

Call ahead and let them know you’re serious about buying & ask what their best price is. You can call, email, or send a fax, but definitely try more than one dealership. Beware of sales people who talk payments…your primary goal is to get the lowest possible price with the lowest possible interest rate on the loan. Also, know the value of the vehicle and find out what others are paying in your area through edmunds.com or kelly blue book kbb.com

Q: Is now a good time or a bad time to buy a new Toyota Tacoma?
It seems like the sales are good right now, but how bad is the economy going to get? If it’s really, really bad, then buying a new car seems stupid. Thoughts?

A: Its never a bad time to buy an American built truck. The Tacoma’s are excellent compact pickup trucks and it will last a lot longer than a GM, Ford, or Dodge.

I don’t own a Tacoma, I own a new Tundra and I love it, I’ve had it for about a year and a half and haven’t had a single problem with it. So I would expect that you wouldn’t have any issues with the Tacoma either.

I used to be a Ford guy until the “Big 3″ started asking for bailouts, their service went to hell, and the reliability of the vehicles went to hell too.

Any of the above posters actually go look at a Ford, GM, or Dodge lately, bet you they’re built in Mexico, or Canada, or if they happen to be one of the few still built in the US, I bet all the parts come from Japan, Mexico, China, Korea, Hong Kong, Italy, etc. They’re no more American than any other vehicle.

I just bought a 2008 Toyota Tundra a little over a year ago like I mentioned above and it was built in San Antonio Texas.

To the above posters go look at your current vehicle and find out which foreign country you just supported.

Buy the Toyota you won’t regret it, and you’ll never go back to a Ford, GM, or Chrysler product.

Q: New Toyota Tacoma or New Honda Ridgeline?
Soon I will be buying a new truck, and I cut down my options to these two trucks. I need you to tell me which truck you think is the best and persuade me with your reason why you choose it, and back it up with some resources.
Oh and the new truck will be transporting a family of 5. (2 full grown teenagers and 1 child) Just in case if you were asking.
Sorry I keep adding additional details, but the truck won’t be used it to tow stuff, just carry items that need additional space.

A: We bought a Tacoma. I rode better than the Ridgeline and we have had Toys forever. It felt better in the cab and when in the back, it felt like there was more room. Resources are my own experience.

Q: What is a reasonable or “average” APR/interest rate for a new Toyota Tacoma? What kind of rate do you have?
What type of new car do you drive?

A: average is like 9-12%.

if you have great credit (over FICO 690) then you can get 5.99% from Capitalone.com

Q: Whats your opinion about buying a new toyota tacoma 4×2 vs buying a 4×4?
I live in northeastern Massachusetts and have been debating whether four wheel drive is worth the extra money? I have a 1988 Nissan 4×4 truck. I only use the four wheel drive in the winter. I have been considering the extra weight, maintenance and costs against the benefits. I know when we have snows i would feel safer with four wheel drive. There is about a $4000 difference between the 4×4 vs the 4×2. I have also been thinking about how it might effect it’s resale value even if i plan on keeping it a long time ( maybe keep it as long as i’ve had my 1988 Nissan truck).
We have a lot of salt up here and the frame has serious rot, so i can’t keep my Nissan truck. I have really loved the truck and wish i could keep driving it! I think i’m going to donate it to the cancer society.
Don’t they put an undercoat at the factor on new vehicles? when i buy the new Tacoma i was going to skip the offer if asked.

A: I would always go for the 4×4. But it really depends how you are going to use the truck, and where you are going to use the truck. I have a 4×4 Ford Ranger, and like you, i mostly use 4 wheel drive only during the winter. But there have been a few situations where I’ve gotten stuck, and 4 wheel drive has saved me. And you also have to understand, that when you dont have a load in the back of your truck, traction is considerably less than normal, 4 wheel drive can help you keep thte truck under control in those situations.

Q: Do I buy a new Toyota Tacoma truck or a used Dodge Diesel so I can use alternate fuel, biodiesel?

A: bio diesel does not burn well in normal use Toyota Tacoma is efficient and will last 4 ever the 4 cylinder tacoma does not have great torque but can run on fumes

Q: I’m deciding whether to get a used 05 Mustang Gt or a new toyota tacoma w/ sport package.justwantsomeopinions.?
I like the trucks because i have to carry my dirt bike and quad around occasionally. I also like the mustang because its affordable and sporty.

A: A Mustang was the worst rental car I’ve ever had. It felt both loose and harsh (ride) at the same time. Based upon that experience, I’d never buy one. I’ve had a Tacoma for almost nine years and it is a very reliable, solid, and useful truck. I’ve 4×4′d it pretty hard a few times, in addition to mostly commuting in it and occasionally hauling things, and it still keeps going. 175k miles with no major problems. I’d be the newer ones are even nicer.

Q: has anyone put a performance chip in a new toyota tacoma? and do they work?
do you get better gas mileage? better performance or are they just a big farce? thanks

A: It is garbage. Save your money.

Q: How low can I go with a deal on a new 2010 Toyota Tacoma?
MSRP is $29,500. Asking $24,000 for it. Is this possible? I don’t want to get ripped off by the salesman.

A: They are asking $24,000 or you are?

Of course $24,000 is possible. But you don’t mention what model, 2WD or 4WD, Standard, Extended Cab or Crew Cab.

All these things will effect the price.

So based on what you said, yes it’s very possible. But there’s no telling if you are getting ripped off or not.

Q: Is there a way to put cruise control on a new Toyota Tacoma that doesn’t have it?

A: There are after market cruise systems out there. Check and see.

Q: Looking for new Toyota Tacoma Extra cab Prerunner or TRD Version?
I am looking for a brand new Toyota Tacoma it can be an 09 or 2010 Toyota Tacoma Extra Cab Prerunner or possibly TRD for $23,000 out the door. I want it have back windows to be factory tinted already. Now that I am starting my new job I need a truck. Any suggestions or recommended dealers?
I forgot to mention anywhere in San Diego I would buy from as long as I could find my a new Tacoma for that price out the door

A: just search dealersips on toyota.com and call them all and tell them exactly what you want and let them find it for you.
and i gaurantee you some guy that says “combat vetran” in his source box will tell you that they rust and toyota kills babies or something like that, don’t listen, he is just a cranky old man that i sad because his chevy isn’t cool anymore

Q: What is better the new Toyota tacoma or the new toyota fj cruiser???

A: don’t put a lot of time into answering, he never picks a best.

Q: Would you buy a new Toyota Tacoma right now in the middle of all this recall madness?
Apparently I haven’t been watching the new lately because last night I purchased a 2010 Tacoma. I have to go in Saturday to finish the paperwork up. I just heard all this news today and am freaking out now. I know the tacoma isn’t part of the sticking gas pedal recall only the floor mat one (they fastened the floor mats to the ground so they don’t slide around and are no where near the gas pedal, personally I think they should have been that way in the first place). Anyways the mats are my worry. Even though the Tacoma is not included in this new recall, Toyota vehicles in general are scaring me. I have been doing a lot of research online but they are so dang vague. I do know that its somewhat of a wear and tear thing and that if there is a problem with the newer models they shouldn’t be affected for a while and by then can be replaced when they come up with a solution(apparently in april) What would you all do…back out of it on Saturday or keep it??
The tocoma fit what I needed its not a full size but has 4 doors and enough room inside for big car seats, the long bed for our desert toys, & I wanted a 4×4. I personally would have had no problem going with the nissan frontier but my husband didnt like it. I always thought Toyota had a good reliable rep. and theyre not the first car co. to have dangerous recalls. …I just cant shake this sick feeling in my stomach even with tylenol pms its taking me hours to fall asleep. Im worried they wont take it back.

A: I wouldn’t get too worried, but for sure I would wait it out for a couple days and see what happens. I think some of the answers *maybe 1 or 2* are obviously strongly against toyota by how their urging you to go to an american company dealership now that this is the first major problem toyota had with their cars, and its their only opportunity to have negative feedback to use on toyota. To be perfectly honest, I think you should still get the toyota. Toyota/Lexus (lexus is a division of parent company toyota) take these things very seriously. My mom’s model of the Lexus ES 330 was thought to have the mat problem, and they quickly pinned down what year and specifics had the problem and handled it quickly, and they did offer free check to anyone concerned. They do take customers very seriously and don’t want to disappoint to avoid hurting that mostly good rep. I think in the longrun you would appreciate buying the Toyota truck because it will more than likely hold great value and the long run reliability will be much greater. Even though the pedal thing is scary now, many will not deny the Toyota assembly and quality control has higher standards than many other standard economy car manufacturers. Good luck with the deal! I hope everything works out and you get the car you want!

Q: Does any one have a new generation Toyota Tacoma ?
I am considering a Extra cab 4×4 4cyl. with a manual transmission. Wondering what kind of miles per gallon to expect.

A: The answer is 21-27 mpg with that truck that is what the Toyota site list at you can go to Toyota.com and go to trucks and look at specs and get mileage for all. I have the same truck 2007 4×2 and mileage is very close to spec. Any questions e-mail me.
