Q: Question about new honda civic?
I am looking at a new Civic EX with Navigation. The dealer says I have to pay $900 extra to get an XM satellite receiver put in, but Honda’s web site seems to say that civics with NAV have the receiver built in. Which is right?
A: the website should be right, most of the car dealership salesmen dont have a clue of what they are talking about, they just want to sale you something, i would call honda myself and ask and make sure that it is built in before buying it
Q: New Honda Civic in Austin – Which dealership have you bought yours from?
I was looking to purchase a new Honda civic and I wanted to get your opinion on where I should purchase my new Honda civic in Austin. I recently moved to Austin and wanted to know which dealership can help me the most. Thanks for your time.
Thank you so much,
Chantelle
A: Hello Chantelle,
I recently purchased a Honda Accord and one of my family members purchased a Honda Civic from Howdy Honda and I had a great time dealing with their employees who were really friendly and generally helpful. The prices are almost all the same in all the dealerships but I chose Howdy Honda because of service and reliability, I would suggest you do to. I put a link leading to their new auto page below.
Hope this helps!
Q: Will the pollution from a new Honda Civic be enough to kill you?
I think it could be the best way to suicide but not sure if it will kill me or not. What about super gluing your mouth to the exhaust pipe and then using a remote starter to start your Civic? Will that kill you?
Least of worries? How come?
A: yes, a new honda civic could easily kill you, but superglueing your mouth to the exhaust would be very unpleasant, and your mouth will probably get blown away from the exhaust pipe.
a better way to do it is to put a large hose or flexible pipe over the exhaust and sit in the car with all the windows up exept one, which you should leave down a crack for the other end of the hose to come into. with the engine running, you should be dead in no time.
Q: Is the new Honda Civic model better than the current one?
I just bought a civic couple months ago, should i have waited? whats ur take on the new model. I m only 21 so i just drive this car around lol.
A: I wouldn’t say better.
Honda claims it’s going to bring new stuff but for the most part to me it sounds like it’s just some “fancier” updated user friendly technology and oddly aggressive body lines especially in the rear of the car.
Rumored is that there will be more powerful engines this time around but I doubt it at this point, seems like they are keeping the not so inspiring 140hp engine in the base models.
IMO: You’re good with what you got, especially if it’s an Si model.
If you haven’t seen this yet, some info about the 2012 model: http://automobiles.honda.com/2012-civic/
Q: Which car race game does include new Honda Civic Type S and Type R?
I want to drive these cars for fun in a game. But i could not found a game that includes Honda series. Please help me to find a game with such a quality PC version.
A: sooner or later i presume they will have a pc version
you can buy drivers for your pc to play playstation games. kinda in they gray area though. but still cool
you’ll also need a blue ray drive in your pc
Q: How much would you pay for a new 2008 Honda Civic?
I am really interested in buying a new 2008 Civic Sedan LX. They have great fuel mileage and a nice look. This will be my first new car. They are in such high demand in my area though. What can I do to get a good price? What is a good price? Or do you think getting a nice used one is better, but the only thing is they are the same price as the new one’s? Please help this is all new to me!
Thanks in advance!
A: I got one for 16850 before tax and license…which i thought was a pretty good deal considering the sticker is over 18k. Cars are really cheap these days with the way the economy is, but i also live in So. Cal. which helps keep the prices lower. Good luck! you will love the car!
Q: Which car is better- a loaded new Honda Civic Si Coupe or a loaded new VW GTI DSG?
I’m looking to purchase a new car but I’m stuck between these two cars. I love both- I’ve test driven both many times. I love the looks on both, I love the performance on both. I think the GTI is slightly more enjoyable but it costs roughly 5k more (i’d get either one just about fully loaded- 25k for the Civic, 30k for the GTI). I don’t know which to get. I want the most fun! (But is the small difference in fun-ness between the two cars worth 5k???)
A: We just took in an 07 civic si on trade for a GTI. The honda is a good reliable car, but weak. No Torque! The german cars will out handle, out perform and just man handle any japanese car on the road. Plus German cars are tuned for autobahn speeds which means they are much safer at slower speeds in case of an emergency manuever. Plus the jap cars are cheaply put together.. the fit and finish, plastics, sheetmetal are noticable different. Slam the doors of the two and you will notice a distinct difference. I had a 99 si and the car was always getting blown around on the highways when it was windy.. Now i have a benz and I can’t imagine ever putting myself back into that tin can.. $5k is worth it for the safety aspect alone.
Q: I want to clean my new Honda Civic without Soap and Water?
As I leave in an Apartment so cannot use soap, water to clean in the underground garage. Generally use wipes to clean the exterior and glass cleaner for windshield and mirrors. But need some tips for regular cleaning for dust over the body. Someone told me not to use towels/rags as they may put scratch. Any suggestion how to remove dust regularly without using wipes for long time rather use it once in a while.
A: Have you ever considered investing in a car cover? this would keep the car cleaner longer and an occasional trip to the car wash would do the rest. I do agree that you should not wipe the paint with towels and paper, all you are doing is rubbing the dirt that is on the surface of the paint and this will cloud the finish over time.
Q: My new Honda Civic has an “oil life” indicator. Can I use synthetic oil at my next oil change?
Would the “oil life” indicator still work properly? Synthetic oil gets me better gas mileage.
A: the oil life indictor is predicated on how the engine is used and mileage algorythems based on the use of conventional motor oil.
you can use synthetic oil but for the purposes of the Honda warranty you would have to change it in accordance with their recommendations.
the maintenance minder system takes into account mileage driven, engine load and fuel consumed and time since the last service to determine when you should have the oil changed. the range of the light coming on is between 4,000 and 12000 miles per service.
if you decide to go with a synthetic (and I don’t see an advantage of doing so given the high quality of conventional oils v. the slight if any increase in fuel economy v. the cost of the synthetics) keep in mind that once you change to a synthetic you can’t change back to a conventional oil or you’ll get oil leaks from most of the seals in the engine.
if you decide to use the synthetic, just have the light reset following the instructions in your owner’s manual and keep a log as to when you need to change it based on the recommendation of the synthetic oil manufacturer. the light can be reset when it starts flashing (15% useful life remaining) without doing any service on the car.
hope that helps
Q: Should I get extended warranty on my bran new Honda Civic?
I am getting a new Honda Civic. They have a Platinum warranty for $ 1685.00. for 6 years or 100,000 miles. They say if i don’t use it i can get my money back. Minus $50.00. But if i don’t use it i will have pad about $500.00 in finance in 6 years for it. I don’t drive much. Should I get it?
A: It’s a Honda. You don’t need an extended warranty. Just follow the maintenance schedule and you’ll be fine.
If that money-back guarantee is true, they’re basically paying you $50.00 to borrow $1685.00. Think of the time value of money. Bad deal.
Q: Would it be better to buy a new Honda civic or a 2000 bmw 323?
I plan to keep the car no more than 5 years and the bimmer would have about 90,000-100,000 mile on it.
A: The BMW is a nice ride, but in reality it cost like heck to maintain one. As was previously mentioned the timing belt, a tune up, electrical, all is big bucks. The Civic, will actually outlast the BMW with a lot less maintenance, and a lot better fuel economy. My neighbor just sold his 84 Civic, with well over 300,000 commuter miles, with nothing but, oil changes, tune ups, timing belts, and 1 radiator. Not bad for a little beater car. Another Friend of mine has a BMW, I forget the model, but is is a larger 4 door, with a six cylinder, and automatic. He just paid $1400.00 for some electrical work, a wiper problem, and a major service. It.s your call, and your money. Good luck.
Q: What can I name my new Honda Civic?
I just got a new 2011 Honda Civic and I want to give it a witty name. It is a charcoal gray-blackish color. Anything fun or just plain cool would be great!
P.S. I’m a guy so I need a tough, manly name. Or a sexy girl name. Either one would be good ;]
A: Guys should never, never, never name a car…
Q: Turtle wax ice, can I use it on my 1 week old brand new Honda civic in neutron blue?
When I got the car a week ago, the body feels so smooth. The car has diamond kote, but now it does not feel smooth. It was raining for the past week here in Vancouver and now it has dried water spots. I’m planning to wash the car tomorrow. I’m going to buy the turtle wax ice car wash and polish it after also using the turtle wax ice. Is it safe for the paint and also the clear coat if I use a high pressure hose from a self serve car wash?
A: Absolutely. Your only concerns are: has the paint been curing for at least a month? Is the wax abrasive?
If the car is at least 1 month old from when it was shipped, you can wax it. Otherwise you should let it sit longer and cure so you don’t trap any evaporatives that are still leaving.
And there are waxes that are meant for removing scratches and oixidization. You don’t want anything to do with those on a new car. I saw a maserati with loads and loads of baby scratches across it’s still extremely glossy paint and realized then the effects of using the wrong waxes.
Q: How can I listen to my ipod in my new Honda Civic?
There’s an outlet for it, but I don’t know what kind of attachment I need.
A: Wal-mart-FM transmitter $19.95. it’s a sinch to use and it’s cheap
Q: Why does my new Honda Civic have a bad gas mileage ?
i just bought a 2010 Honda Civic Coupe LX i have only drove it 650 miles so far but i have filled my tank lik 3 times it only gives me 27 miles a gallon while the company says 30-43 miles a gallon on free way and 20-30 miles in city i drive i 90% on the freeway and i an a real careful and decent driver
can anyone tell me why am i getting such a bad gas mileage?
A: Its new. It usually takes a couple thousand miles for new engines and transmissions. to break in and get the rated gas mileage. Reevaluate things after your first oil change. If your gas mileage is still bad, talk to Honda but it sounds like your right where you should be for a new civic
