I have a 1996 chevy camaro. I want to get a 98-02 front-end conversion. How much money are we talking abouut me spending here?

A: I have to agree with Chris.Actually not much is going to help the forth generation Camaros look. There just not that good looking

Q: What year after 85 did a new style of camaro come out?
My favorite car is an ‘85 camaro iroc but i recently saw a picture of an ‘89 that looked similar. I know that there were different kits and I only like the flat front. What years were the different styles released?

A: hi , i have had 5 camaros over the years …

Q: How do I change the cluster in my 94 camaro? Will my miles change back to the original?
Well I had too much fun in my camaro, and something got thrown into my cluster and broke the plastic and messed up the face. So I was looking at junk yards for another one, and was wondering if my miles will change back to what they are now when I get it hooked up? I don’t want my 102k miles to show up as 187k like the cluster I may be buying has. Also, how easy is it to install? Any sites?

A: Yeah, I am sure once you put the USED one in, it will automatically calibrate it you your own mileage.

Q: What is the model and year of the old camaro in the first transformers?
What is the model and year of the old camaro in the first transformers?

A: 75 76 77

All 3 years were identical.

It’s hard to say which model as the car had been customized.

Probably an LT or a Coupe.

Q: How much does it cost to get a 96 camaro key made?
I have a 96 Camaro and my lock key for the doors and truck is jacked up.
It will go in fine and unlock or lock the doors but pulling it out it gets stuck.
So i think the groves on the key are too smooth and need a new key.
So how much would it be for a need key made, there a letter H on the base of the key too.
Thank You!

A: I owned a 93 camaro and im almost positive that my key had a special chip that needed to be programed. These however are not as complicated as the new keys now a days. Most locksmiths or key makers can program it rather than the dealer. It cost me $20 when i purchased mine(3 years ago).

Q: What color racing stripes goes well with a silver camaro?
I got a 2010 Silver Camaro and i would like to add racing stripes to it. What other colors goes well on a silver car beside black?

A: I think this silver Camaro with orange stripes looks good

But you might consider airbrushed flame stripes if you want something that looks really hot

Q: How do you empty a gas tank to replace the fuel pump on a 94 Camaro Z28?
I have a 94 Camaro Z28 and it’s been sitting for a year. It doesn’t crank because the fuel pump is damaged. The gas tank is full, though. Does the gas go bad after it’s been sitting for a year? How can I drop the gas tank and replace the fuel pump when the tank is full of gas? What are the steps to replacing the fuel pump, too.

A: first of all its good that it wont start because your fuel is bad.. it goes abd after about 50 -60 day unless treated with some kind of stabilizer… just syphon the gas out with your mouth or one of them syphon pumps then put a 2 by 4 on your jack and pull the tank down… its simple, but if it has a screen to were you cant get a hose in there you will have to drop the gas tank down full and empty it by hand.

Q: How much would it cost to change a 80’s model Camaro from auto to manual?
I found a 80’s model Camaro that runs good for $800 the only thing wrong with it is a dent in the door. I like it but I think its kinda pointless to have an automatic Camaro. I would like to drag race ( Legally ) in the future and I cant really do that with an automatic so how much would it cost to change it to manual?

and I assume you can use used parts right?

A: Man, stop watching ricer movies. Stick shifts are slower than autos in a drag race.

98% of drag racers run and recommend an auto trans, not a stick shift.

I’m one of them. I’m 27 years old, been drag racing at track since I was 15 (yes back then a 15 year could race a car)

Right now I run a 1988 camaro in NHRA D.O.T tire class. I have a 355, old combo had 505 HP, ran 11.40’s @ 118 mph in 1/4 mile, 1.60’s 60′ times pulling front wheels on launch. New combo should have 590 HP and make it well into the 10’s

Wanna guess what transmission I run? Th-400 auto, transgo reprograming kit, 9.5″ 3500 stall torque converter, B&M govenor recal kit, shift points set for 6400 rpm

Stick shifts will be slower in a drag race due to amount of time it takes to shift gears, clutch slippage, and alot harder to launch w/o wheel spin and to launch same way every pass, after pass, after pass.

Dont help much if you pull out a 11.20 on this pass, make it to next round and launch 200 rpm higher, spin the tires for 15 feet and run a 11.25.. Your going home

Also on anything with real power, everything happens too quick to think about shifting.. Sure I know, I know you can do it, or atleast you think you can.

Let me share alittle info from my data logger with you as far as how quick stuff happens.

I have my trans set up to shift at 6400 rpm which is where I need it to shift.

Foot break, against converter, 2800 rpm launch to shift point in 1.786 seconds and at that time I’m already at 45.55 mph and 70 feet down the track.

0-60mph in 2.874 seonds and 156 feet down the track at that point.

My 2-3 gear shift happens at 3.766 seconds after launch, I’m at 70.38 mph and 242 feet out. (thats only 1.98 seconds after I make the 1-2 shift)

And keep in mind thats spinning engine up to 6400 rpm on shifts

Heck I go from 60 feet to 70 feet out in 0.153 seconds and in that same spae rpm goes from 6118 to 6400..

Point being, miss a shift even by 2/10th of 1 second and you could wrap the tach, and drive right over your crank and rods thats now laying on the track

Plus most auto transmissions are stronger than man. trans and clutches.

The third gen camaros had a brog warner T5, 5 speed man transmission.. Do alittle search on those lmao. Stock 160 HP 305’s are breaking third gen in those weak toys of a transmission

If you want a stick shift that can hold up to drag racing, your looking at $2500 for the trans, clutch and bell.

Run an auto and save the money to go toward a good rear end cause you WILL break your stock ones. The stock ones are weak and I have went through two of them myself, untill I spent out the 2 grand for a ford 9″ rear

Q: Will GM closing for reportedly 9 weeks affect the arrival of my Camaro?
I have pre-ordered my 2010 Camaro and i was told it would arrive in 6-8 weeks. I recently saw on the news that GM was planning to close for 9 weeks to save some money. Would this affect the arrival of my Camaro before July?

A: No, they’re not shutting down the plants until the summer…and the pre-orders are being built now..

Q: What is the best way to make my 1997 camaro faster?
im looking to make my camaro faster..i have a few ideas but im looking for opinions..i want something that wont be really expensive..nor will be dangerous to my car.

it has a 230 2002 v6 engine.

A: Well there’s no substitute for cubic inches but you can do a few simpler things without changing the engine. You might not be thinking “faster” as in over-all top speed but faster as in “peel out”. A taller over-drive gear in the tranny would give you a higher top speed or changing the ring and pinion gears in the rear end would add to this top speed, too.

You can install a K&N air filter that is for this model engine as they allow the air to go through faster than a stock air filter. You can get a new chip or reprogram the one that’s in the car. This will change the timing and make it spunkier at lower speeds.
A less restrictive muffler or a dual exhaust system will let the exhaust flow out faster which means less horsepower wasted pushing out the waste gasses.

Just running a full synthetic oil adds 5 HP over a conventional motor oil. I like the store brand 10W30 synthetics. Using synthetic powersteering fluid and approved synthetic differential gear oils reduces friction as does keeping those U-joints on the driveshaft lubricated.

Your Chevy dealer has a catalog of high perfomance parts and other stuff for your car. You might add some flames to the sides just to make it look faster, too.

Drive safely or you’ll not live long enough to enjoy your ride.

Good Luck!

Q: How do you replace all 4 shocks in a 96 camaro?
I have a 96 camaro and all four shocks are shot on it. im looking to replace them myself to save some money. Im looking for a step by step process. Thank you.

A: order the Haynes repair book for your car

Q: How do I replace the trunk struts on my 87 camaro?
The front trunk struts on my 87 camaro need to bee replaced. They dont seem to just slip off. How do I get them off?

A: The gas springs ?? Yes, they just POP off their ball mounts… Maybe you need a bigger POPPER !!

Q: Will a Pontiac supercharger work in a camaro?
I have a 1999 V6 Camaro with a 3.8L 3800 Series II engine. The 1997 Pontiac GTP has the same engine but it is supercharged. Will the Pontiac supercharger fit my camaro?

A: in my guesstimate the answer is yes it will fit – and yes it will even “work” with a tremendous amount of effort – on alot of peoples part. If you think that its a matter of “bolting” the supercharger on your engine and driving off – you are wrong.
Every component that controls the functioning of that supercharger has to be included in the “bolt-on” process.
Your ecu won’t handle positive map sensor readings – so it has to be swapped.
The fuel system- pump ,injectors, rail and controls need to be swapped.
You need to either be full of time , money or both.
Good luck and happy motoring.

Q: How much would it cost to install a single-din head unit in my 1998 chevy camaro?
The camaro has a stock 1.5 Din head unit, so I would need to buy a converter for around 10$
Would it be better to simply take the car into a specialized audio shop, or to install it myself? The unit is a Clarion vz300 (with 3 outputs) and i have 6 speakers in my car. Any thoughts on pricing to have it installed versus simply installing it myself?

A: You are looking at $40-75 not including parts, just depends where you go. It is fairly simple to install a head unit your-self if you do get the install kit and the factory match wire harness. You can get both through Metra electronics, or look for the metra products on amazon.com or ebay.

Q: Can you use anything other than a 94 transmission in a 94 camaro?
I have a 1994 Chevrolet Camaro, V6, 3.4L Automatic Transmission. I blew my tranny. I was wondering if any other years of camaro will fit in the 94 Camaro, or if any other GM Vehicles around that model year have the same transmission?

Also, is it cheaper to rebuild my camaro’s tranny, or just buy a new/rebuilt one?

A: you can go to 02 as long as its a 3.4 so the bell housing will bolt to the engine

edit ;thanks tony had a brain cramp
