Q: Want to buy a used Cadillac CTS for about 6k?
I was wondering if those cars take alot of gas or not. I already have a car now, its a 2001 kia optima. I want this car because it is beautiful and I want to upgrade from my first car. I think I might pass for now if I find out that it takes up alot of gas. Also do you know anything else about these models. Any info is much appreciated.

A: Keep the Kia.

As nice as the Caddy may be, the repairs will have you curled up in the fetal position.

That Kia doesn’t have a $500 steering stabilizer sensor or a $2000 air suspension that WILL (Really, not IF, but WHEN.) bite the dust.

You’re welcome.

Q: I bought a used cadillac cts (stick shift) with problems (lemon?)?
I bought a used cadillac cts stick shift and it has 43,000 and is still under warranty, I’ve taken it in the dealer twice and was wondering if they normally shift kinda weird or if I should take it to another dealer. They have replaced multiple parts on it already. Also a switch on the back drivers window needed to be replaced. I have only had this car for 2 months. I think it might be a lemon. I need advice bad!

A: As long as it is under warranty.. let them keep fixing and replacing.. eventually there should be nothing left to mess up!

Q: How much would a mildly used Cadillac CTS cost?
a 2007 used one not a brand new one

A: Well, there is a major difference between a mildly used 2008 model and a mildly used 2007 model, so give us a little more information and we might be able to help you.

Q: Why are used Cadillac Deville’s cheaper than used Cadillac CTS’s of the same year and mileage?
I have been looking around at used Cadillacs in the Houston, TX area and have noticed that when the year is the same Cadillac Deville’s are almost always cheaper than the Cadillac CTS’s even when the CTS has higher mileage. This doesn’t make sense to me because the CTS is Cadillac’s entry vehicle while the Deville was one of their upper level cars. The Deville is also rated as being the more reliable of the two on almost every website that I have seen.

The Deville has a Northstar V8 engine and started out new at around $45,000+ while the CTS only has a V6 engine and started out new at around $30,000+

A: Heavy advertising and high performance have made the CTS more desirable. Not better, just more desirable.

Q: pros and cons of hummer H2 **or** cadillac cts USED UNDER 20K?
I need some advice, this would be our familys main vehicle, grocery getter, back and forth to school etc.
I really like both and want to know what others think of pros and cons. I am not talking about brand new. I only buy used. My budget would be about 18k-20k

A: The CTS is a beautifully appointed car with most any bell and whistle you might need along with car of the year a couple years back. The H2 just says look at me, unless you live in the wilds somewhere and need a day to day off road vehicle. Get the CTS

Q: I found a used 2004 Cadillac cts 34000 miles sticker price 16880. What should I offer to start?

A: If it’s from a private party, check its condition. Are the tires worn? Does it have more than normal wear and tear on the body or the interior? Is the paint mismatched? Does the current owner have all the service records? Get the VIN and pay for a Carfax report. Is it clean?

Next, write down all the options and exact mileage. Go to edmunds.com and kbb.com to get current average selling prices for your area. Now you are armed with a lot of useful info. Be friendly when you talk to the owner. Ask him/her what the lowest price he’ll/she’ll take to sell it right now. You want that person to give away the rock bottom price right up front. OR … ask you what you’re willing to pay for it right now. If that happens, you have the upper hand.

But keep in mind, being friendly, not arrogant or pushy, is the best way to get your price.

If the car is at a dealer, there should be a Buyer’s Guide on the window. Ask to see the Carfax report. If the report isn’t clean, a reputable dealer will wholesale the car rather than put it on his lot. A conniving one will keep it and prevent you from seiing the Carfax. You need to know if the dealer is trustable.

Then tell the salesperson you don’t want to waste time haggeling. Offer $15,880 plus fees. If he counters, reiterate your price. If he counters again, walk off the lot. I can almost guarantee he’ll come running after you telling you you have a deal.

Most used cars on a lot have at least a $2000 difference between what they’re into it and what they’re asking price is. So splitting the difference, $1000 off, is a fair deal for everyone.

Q: I just bought a used 2007 Cadillac CTS-V does anybody know how to set up the bluetooth for my cell phone?

A: Read you manual. It’s not that hard. I just set my bluetooth up in my vehicle. It was pretty easy, it works great…

Q: How do you use a cadillac cts’s sport mode? I noticed the “S” button in it, but how do i use it?

A: you push it

Q: How do you use an automatic cadillac cts’s sport mode? There’s a button “S” and then at the top of the?
shifter there is a button that looks sort of like a snowflake. What does each of these buttons do and when do i press them?

A: The “S” button is for the Sport mode, which changes the automatic transmission’s shift ratios to a more aggressive pattern, providing for faster acceleration. It’s useful for passing or merging into highway traffic, but uses more fuel.

A Cadillac Owner’s Manual says the following:

“For a firmer shift and increased performance, you may choose the sport mode. This button lets you change from a normal driving mode
to a sport driving mode. It is located on the shift lever handle. Press the ā€œSā€ button once to select the sport feature. Press it again to return to the normal driving mode. When you start the engine, your vehicle will be in normal mode. For general driving conditions, use the normal mode. It will remain in normal unless you select the sport feature. This light on the instrument panel cluster will come on when the sport mode
is selected. If this light begins flashing while you are driving, there may be a fault in the automatic transmission. Have your vehicle serviced.”

**********

The Snowflake button is designed to get your car moving in snow or ice by providing a launch at lower RPM’s in third gear.

A Cadillac Owner’s Manual says the following:

“Press this button to provide more traction when you are starting on ice or other slippery surfaces. It only operates when the shift lever is in DRIVE (D). The button is located next to the shift lever on the console.
The transmission will be in THIRD (3) when the vehicle begins to move. After starting in THIRD (3), the vehicle will upshift normally.

This feature is for improved traction only when the road surface is slippery and is not intended for continuous use or when the vehicle is stuck in sand, mud, ice, snow or gravel. Drive as usual for normal road conditions. This feature automatically turns off when any of the
following conditions occur:

When the ignition is turned off.
If the shift lever is placed in PARK (P), THIRD (3),
SECOND (2), or FIRST (1).
If you press and hold the accelerator pedal past its
resistance point for more than two seconds.
When speed falls below 25 mph (40 km/h).
Once the vehicle reaches 67 mph (108 km/h).

To turn this feature off, press the button again. Whenever you start your vehicle, the transmission is in the normal mode.”

Q: i just bought a used car 03 cts cadillac.?
i just want to know if i received any warranty when i purchased the car..

or i have to go to the dealer and ask them. but what do you think is the average warranty they offer me. for how long 5 months ?

A: Unless the dealer specifically offered you a warranty, there is no factory warranty left on a used 2003 CTS.

Q: Does my 2006 Cadillac CTS use a timing belt or a timing chain and how often does it need to be changed?

A: Pretty sure it uses a belt, if so around 60k. If its a chain it could last the entire lifetime of the vehicle.

Q: I am in the market for a used car and i saw a 2003 cadillac cts for only 12900. The downside is it has 109K.?
I work from home so I won’t do much driving but do you think I should go for it or take a pass? I get a discount on American cars so it won’t cost that much for me to have it, but if i should completely stay away from it let me know. Any other options you can provide will be helpful also, but like i said, I dont want to spend too much on a car cause I dont drive alot.
I was looking at a Honda at the dealership and then I ran upon one. My parents have a CTS and i love to drive it and like the features but was wondering about the long term qualities of having one. I would like to get an American car so that I can use my discount, but if it just isnt worth it then i’ll pass.

A: What is it about that car that appeals to you? Is it the Cadillac name? The price? Go to Autotrader.com and put in your specific requirements, e.g. sedan, v6, leather seats, cruise control. You’ll probably find something similar with fewer miles or a better price. Use Edmunds.com to compare the vehicles, and KBB.com to make sure you don’t pay too much.

Q: Does the Cadillac CTS use regular or mid grade or high grade gas? iIs it good in mileage?
????

A: Cadillac recommends regular unleaded (87 octane) on the v6 model and premium unleaded (92 octane) for the Northstar V8 and W model (high performance). It gets about 16 city/24 hwy for the V6 and 14/22 for the V8. I attached the goverment fuel economy website for you.

Q: Cadillac cts or ford fusion?
Im buying my first car and am debating between a used 2004 cadillac cts and a 2008 ford fusion. They are the same price and have similar mileage, both are V6’s, which is the smarter choice?

A: The Cadillac!

Q: I need opinions on Cadillac CTS!!!?
I am in the process of looking for a vehicle that provides a smooth ride for my newborn. I dont like SUV’s and I cant really afford a new truck. I have been looking at the Cadillac CTS…used of course…and I have fallen in love! HOWEVER, I have talked to some people that say they always break down and are super expensive to fix. And then Ive talked to other people who have driven them all thier life and never had a problem and love them. Im confused. I know any car can break down, but can anyone share thier experience with me about em. Are they good cars and am I making a good choice?

A: They are wrong.

They are very reliable for American cars and cheap to fix.

Cheaper than all competitors like Acura, Lexus, Infiniti, Jaguar, Mercedes, BMW, Audi, and others.

Specific Cadillac’s are very expensive to fix or maintain like the Escalade.
But the CTS is an affordable, nice luxury car.

I have driven a 2003 model with 80,000 miles and it drove and looked like new.

If you read reviews on edmunds.com or vehix or yahoo autos, all the reviews are good.
